United States President Donald Trump has said that a unified Ireland would be "fantastic," in remarks made during a visit to Dublin.


Trump's comments on Saturday came weeks after British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said a referendum on Northern Ireland leaving the United Kingdom was "off the table."


Following Trump's comments, a spokesman for Starmer said his position on Irish unification remains unchanged.


The remarks have sparked widespread discussion on both sides of the Irish Sea, with political analysts weighing in on the implications for Northern Ireland's future.
