NIGERIA'S TIGRES SLIP TO 10TH IN FIBA RANKINGS BUT REMAIN AFRICA'S BEST

PARIS – Nigeria's Super Women's Basketball Team, the Tigres, have slipped to 10th position in the latest FIBA rankings released on Tuesday.


The team previously occupied the 10th position but has now dropped among the leading contenders in the sport. Despite the drop, the Tigres remain the only African team in the top 10 FIBA World Cup rankings.


The drop in ranking, though marginal, reflects the challenges facing Nigerian women's basketball, including inconsistent international competition and limited funding.


However, the Tigres' position as Africa's top-ranked team underscores the dominance of Nigerian women's basketball on the continent.


The team is expected to participate in upcoming tournaments ahead of the next FIBA World Cup.
