Speaking on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Arsenal Golf and Country Club in Owerri during the Governor's Cup 2026 tournament, the Governor highlighted the strategic role the sport plays beyond recreation.


"Golf is not just a social event; it is also a health event, it is a physical fitness event, and it is also a point of contact for connection of businesses and improvement of networks," Uzodimma said.


"We are encouraging this golf course to continue to grow for the interest of the good people of Imo State and advancement of our development."
