Governor Hope Uzodimma has called on women across Imo State to remain united and continue driving community development and economic progress.
The Governor made the call on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the grand finale of the 2026 Imo Women's August Meeting, held at the Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square in Owerri under the theme "Threads of Tradition, Voices of Progress."
"The August meeting itself is a good example" of women's collective power, the Governor remarked, urging them to sustain the momentum.
The wife of the governor, Mrs. Chioma Uzodimma, emphasised that cultural traditions serve as a foundation for progress rather than a barrier.
The annual August Meeting remains a cornerstone of Igbo cultural heritage, bringing together women from across communities to discuss development, peace, and empowerment.
