Zion Ministry Leader Hails Uzodimma for Supporting 100-Day Prayer Programme, Says Imo Is ‘Rising Again’

OWERRI —  The conclusion of a 100-day fasting and prayer programme organised by Zion Ministry in Ngor Okpala, Imo State, took a celebratory turn as Evangelist Chukwuebuka Anozie Obi publicly commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for what he described as his crucial support for the gathering.


Speaking during the closing ceremony, Obi welcomed Governor Uzodimma and thanked him for making it possible for the ministry to hold the programme in Ngor Okpala despite opposition from some quarters.


According to him, the governor demonstrated courage by refusing to be pressured into stopping the event.


“He is not a man you can push around. He knows what he wants,” Obi said, attributing the decision to allow the programme to proceed to the large turnout witnessed at the event.


Obi claimed that the gathering attracted worshippers from different parts of Nigeria and abroad, including people from Burkina Faso, the United States and France.


He also recalled the security challenges surrounding a similar gathering in 2024, praising the governor for providing security support, including helicopters, which he said helped ensure that participants were safe.


“Give honour to whom honour is due,” he declared, explaining that his commendation of the governor was based on the role he believed Uzodimma played in making the event possible.


The Zion Ministry leader further argued that the massive movement of people into Ngor Okpala was already producing economic benefits for businesses and residents in the area.


He urged investors to take notice of the growing activities around the community, insisting that the influx of visitors could create new economic opportunities for Imo State.


“Imo State is rising again,” Obi declared.


He described Governor Uzodimma as “a blessing” to both Zion Ministry and Imo State, while also commending the administration for road infrastructure and other support provided around the programme.


Obi subsequently led worshippers in praying for the governor, asking God to grant him good health, protection, wisdom and continued strength to serve the state.


Responding, Governor Hope Uzodimma expressed appreciation for the honour and prayers, while assuring the organisers and worshippers of his continued support.


The conclusion of the 100-day fasting and prayer programme has meanwhile generated conversations about the economic, social and religious impact of large-scale faith gatherings on host communities.
