The Yoruba Community in Imo State has distanced herself from a group of faceless individuals, owing to the fact, that their attention has been drawn to the misrepresentation/impersonation of group of unknown persons who are parading themselves as the leaders/ representation of the Yoruba Community in Imo state as they formally notify the state government of this atrocity of the said groups which includes: Yoruba Peoples' Forum (YPF), Yoruba Political Support Group (YPSG), Yoruba Political Agenda (YPA).
It was gathered that the decision was reached,s following a 7-day consultation meeting of the Yoruba Community stakeholders and elders council which included representatives conduct and public representation of the aforementioned groups in relation to the interests and collective aspirations of the Yoruba Community in the state
Also, after careful deliberations, the council unanimously resolved that the activities of these associations were inconsistent with the established objectives and values of the Yoruba Community, as the council found that these faceless groups had engaged in acts of misrepresentation by projecting personal and sectional interests as the official position of the Yoruba Community emphasizing, that their involvement is anti community activities and actions capable of causing division and disharmony within the community.
Consequently, the Yoruba Community in the state hereby, disassociates herself from the unauthorized faceless groups henceforth, these organizations should not be regarded by the government of Imo State, it's agencies, political institution or the general public as speaking for our representative of Yoruba Community in Imo State.
For the avoidance of doubt, the resolutions of the stakeholders and elders council was subsequently published in the (White Paper of Friday , 19th June 2026) for public information and record purposes and the following names were selected to represent the face of the community in all activities in the state which includes: Dr Ogunyemi Odunayo J, Comrd. Alatere Sulyman M and HRH Oba Musibau Oladeji.
Pls, accept the assurances of our highest esteem and continued commitment to peace, unity and constructive engagement with the government and people of Imo State.
