The adage " Honour is given to whom honour is due " played out over the weekend , as Njaba Apex Leader Chief Chris Akuzuruahu (Ezemuo Njaba ) was honoured with an excellence Service Award  in appreciation of  his efforts towards  human and capital development, by the members of the Federation of Njaba Students Association, FENSA ,  Imsu Chapter.


The award ceremony which took place at the Imo state University auditorium witnessed the presence of high Profiled dignitaries from within and outside the state who graced the occasion.


Expressing his delight ,  the renowned Philantropist, Chief Akuzuruahu who felt so elated thanked the students for appreciating his efforts towards human and capital development, as assured his continual collaboration with the people of Njaba LGA..


Admonishing the FENSA members  , Chief Akuzuruahu  urged them to remain focused in their studies to soar higher in their respective areas of discipline..


In furtherance , Chief Akuzuruahu advised the members of the association to stay out of Social vices , as he thanked the organizers of the event for helping to sustan the rich culltural heritage of Njaba Indigenes.



Meanwhile , it would be recalled that , the 2026 Cultural Day celebration of the Federation of Njaba Students Association, FENSA, IMSU chapter with the theme "Jide Omenala Omenala anyi aka - our culture, our pride, our heritage" took place last Friday, August 7, 2026 at the university premises beside the Auditorium.

   The event was one of the biggest gatherings of Njaba sons and daughters within the university community which aimed at inspiring the students and strengthening their collective commitment to preserving the rich cultural heritage of Njaba for future generation and proudly celebrating their identity,  unity and culture.

   In her welcome address on the occasion, the president, FENSA IMSU chapter, Nwada MaryClara Chibunkem Uzobuife said "Culture is the living story of who we are. It is the thread that weaves our history, values and shared identify into an anchor for our lives. Beyond the musical, the traditional attire, and the food, our culture teaches us respect, community, hard work and resilience. My fellow students, I encourage you to stand tall in who you are. Higher education opens doors to the world, but your identity tells the world where your strength comes from. Let us strive for academic excellence while holding fast to the character and dignity that Njaba is known for. Remember that you are the touchbearers of our people's future and the dedication you show today will shape the future of our home tomorrow.

   A celebration like this does not happen without the kindness and good will of people who care about our growth. On behalf of the association, I thank everyone who contributed financially and morally to make this day a reality. Your support gave us the footings to bring this event together. We thank you for your generosity"

   In an interview with newsmen on the occasion, Nwada Uzobuife revealed that the massive turnout of people, students and dignitaries to the occasion was because of the cultural displays and dances and encouraged Igbo people to uphold their culture and traditions.

   Also speaking, the Chairman, Planning Committee of the event, Sen Chibueze Favour Amadi disclosed that one of their greatest achievements has been building a strong foundation through constitutional reforms, democratic elections and structures that will sustain FENSA for many years to come.

   He noted that organizing the cultural day has not been easy, adding that it had required dedication, sacrifice, teamwork and unwavering commitment, yet, by God's grace and with the support of their executives, planning committee members, sponsors, leaders and every individual who contributed financially, morally or spiritually, the vision had become a reality.

   In his remarks, the Special Adviser to Njaba Executive Chairman on Students, Engr Amb Caleb Chibuike Oguinye stressed the need for Njaba culture to be sustained.

  The event featured cultural dance and drama by Njaba sons, Oghu Cultural Dance,, Okonko Nkume Masquerade display, exhibition of Native do, presentation of Njaba history by the IMSU SUG President, coronation of Ada FENSA and Diokpara FENSA, launching of the FENSA Brochure and 2026 Calendar, presentation of awards to distinguished please cultural exhibitions and entertainments.

   Some dignitaries and top government functionaries and traditional rulers graced the occasion including the Chairman of the Day, Prof. F. N. Mbagwu, the Royal Father of the Day was His Royal Majesty, Eze A.N Onyeka JP Obi IV Of Nkume.
