"Catching criminals and securing convictions is only half the battle; the real victory lies in making crime completely unprofitable."
That was the sharp message delivered by the Chairman and CEO of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), retired Brigadier General Buba Maruwa, while speaking at the 43 rd Cambridge International Symposium on Economic Crime in the United Kingdom. Maruwa argued that law enforcement systems must shift focus toward the aggressive seizure and recovery of the proceeds of crime to truly dismantle trafficking networks.
