​That is the strong verdict from former Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi, who while speaking with sports journalists in Ghana, called for a complete overhaul of the leadership at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). The call comes in the wake of consecutive heartbreaks for Nigerian football: the men's team missing successive World Cup tournaments, and the Super Falcons failing to secure qualification for the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil for the first time in history. Mikel maintained that these unprecedented setbacks are clear proof that old administrative methods are no longer working.
