​Owerri, Imo State — The standoff at Imo State University (IMSU) has intensified as management reportedly deployed non-academic staff to oversee the ongoing second-semester examinations, despite the ongoing total and indefinite strike declared by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

​ASUU-IMSU Chairman, Comrade Stephen Okuje, confirmed in an interview on Monday, August 17, that the union has not reached any agreement with either the university administration or the Imo State government. Okuje maintains that the strike is still in full effect, raising significant concerns regarding the validity and integrity of the current examination process.
