​International — The United Nations Human Rights Office has issued a stern condemnation following the United States’ decision to impose fresh sanctions on senior International Criminal Court (ICC) officials, including President Judge Tomoko Akane and senior trial lawyer Abdoulaye Chayeh.

​The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, has demanded that these sanctions be lifted immediately, urging the international community to stand in defense of the institutions established to uphold the rule of law. While the U.S. continues its stance, the European Union has expressed unwavering support for the Hague-based court, describing it as a "cornerstone of the global fight against impunity."
