President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to deploying emerging technologies and modern military capabilities to tackle Nigeria's evolving security challenges.
Speaking during the grand finale of the 2026 Nigerian Army Day Celebration and the African Land Forces Forum in Port Harcourt, the President said the Federal Government is accelerating the modernisation of the Armed Forces through investments in advanced military equipment, improved personnel training and enhanced operational planning.
He also stressed the importance of research and development in strengthening indigenous defence technology, describing innovation as critical to safeguarding the nation against emerging threats.
The President assured Nigerians that protecting lives and property remains a top priority of his administration.
The renewed commitment comes amid persistent security concerns across different parts of the country.
Can technology alone solve Nigeria's insecurity, or should government focus more on intelligence gathering, job creation and community policing?
