Panic in Imo as Man Allegedly Kills Wife, Flees with Two Children

Shock and grief have enveloped Owelu community in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State following the alleged murder of a woman by her husband.


Residents reportedly discovered the woman's lifeless body within a church premises, while an infant was found abandoned nearby. The suspect allegedly fled the community with two other children before security operatives arrived.


Community sources said the couple had reportedly experienced frequent domestic disputes prior to the tragic incident.


The development has thrown the area into mourning, with residents calling for justice and stronger intervention against domestic violence.


Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Imo State Command, DSP Henry Okoye, said the Divisional Police Officer had visited the scene and that efforts were underway to arrest the fleeing suspect and rescue the missing children.


Police assured residents that investigations have commenced and urged anyone with useful information to assist security agencies.
