Gov Uzodimma Rallies South-East for Tinubu’s Re-Election, Unveils Blueprint for Imo’s Charter of Equity

Owerri, Imo State — In a major political realignment signaling a decisive shift away from transactional politics, Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has declared the unwavering support of all five South-East states for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Governor Uzodimma made this known during a high-level strategic engagement with members of the Imo State Elders Council and the Traditional Rulers Council at the Government House in Owerri.


Addressing the revered elders and royal fathers, Uzodimma stressed that the South-East is embracing a transformative era of purposeful partnership with the Federal Government—one anchored firmly on mutual development, shared prosperity, and national unity.

 "Our leadership model is anchored on a sustainable vision of governance that puts the people first and delivers tangible development," Governor Uzodimma stated. "It is on this foundation that our support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains steadfast. We are convinced that the continuity of his administration will consolidate the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda, deepen ongoing reforms, and further accelerate Nigeria's socio-economic development."


The Governor highlighted that the region's alignment with the federal center is driven by a collective desire to see long-term structural reforms fully bear fruit, ensuring that the South-East remains at the table of national progress.


While rallying grassroots and institutional mobilization for President Tinubu's continuity, Governor Uzodimma turned his focus inward, issuing a crucial directive to safeguard political stability and inclusiveness within Imo State.

He formally directed both the Imo State Elders Council and the Traditional Rulers Council to develop a comprehensive, practical framework for the implementation of the Charter of Equity.

"We must not return to the politics of exclusion," Uzodimma charged the leaders. "The principle of equitable power rotation remains fundamental to strengthening political stability, promoting inclusiveness, and guaranteeing sustainable peace, progress, and development in Imo State."

By coupling a strong endorsement of national continuity with a strict mandate for local equity, Governor Uzodimma’s latest declarations lay down a clear roadmap for both federal integration and internal harmony as the political horizon gathers momentum.
