Dibiagwu Declares Ohaji/Egbema Nigeria's Emerging Energy Hub, Praises Tinubu, Uzodimma

The member representing Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru West Federal Constituency, Eugene Dibiagwu, has declared that Ohaji/Egbema is fast becoming one of Nigeria's most strategic centres for oil, gas and industrial development.


Speaking as keynote lecturer at the 2026 Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Ohaji/Egbema held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Obitti, Dibiagwu highlighted ongoing investments that he said are transforming the local economy.


According to him, the Watersmith Refinery at Ibigwe and the ANOH Gas Processing Plant at Assa have shifted the area from merely producing crude resources to becoming a centre for value addition, processing and industrialisation.


The federal lawmaker also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for implementing economic reforms aimed at restoring investor confidence, while applauding Governor Hope Uzodimma's financial management.


He claimed that Imo has significantly reduced its debt burden, citing Debt Management Office rankings, while also pointing to improvements in electricity projects, industrial development and infrastructure.


The event attracted Archbishop David Onuoha, bishops, traditional rulers, political leaders and other dignitaries, who praised the keynote address as one of the most intellectually stimulating presentations delivered by a politician in recent times.
