Borno School Attack: Over 20 Abducted Victims Escape as Military Intensifies Rescue Efforts

Fresh details have emerged following Monday's terrorist attack on a secondary school in Borno State, where candidates were writing the National Examinations Council (NECO) examination.




The Vice Principal of the school, Paul Namaske, recounted how two teachers and more than 20 students were abducted during the invasion.




According to him, the arrival of Nigerian military aircraft forced the attackers into disarray, creating an opportunity for many of the captives to escape while soldiers rescued several victims.




Earlier, the Nigerian Army confirmed rescuing at least 10 abducted teachers and students during the operation.




However, the rescue mission came at a heavy cost, as a soldier and a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force reportedly lost their lives while confronting the terrorists.




The incident has renewed concerns over the security of schools in conflict-prone areas despite ongoing efforts to safeguard education.
