No fewer than 195 vehicle owners in Enugu State are set to face prosecution after police impounded their vehicles during a statewide enforcement exercise.

According to the police, the operation targeted vehicles without proper registration, those displaying only one number plate, and those using covered, defaced, obscured or unauthorized plates.

Authorities said the enforcement aligns with the National Road Traffic Regulations aimed at improving public safety and making it easier to track criminal activities involving vehicles.

Affected motorists are expected to appear in court in accordance with the law.

Should traffic offenders face stricter penalties, or do you think awareness campaigns would be more effective than prosecution?
