A renowned Medical Practitioner and a Parishioner of St Bartholomew Anglican Church, Nguru Nweke, Aboh Mbaise Dr Chima Oparaji has charged christians to have the fear of God in  them as well as exhibit same in whatever they do and wherever they may find themselves.

Dr Oparaji who is the Chief Medical Director, Umuguma Specialist Hospital, Owerri gave the charge on the occasion of  the  2026, 1st Session of the 12th Synod, held at St Bartholomew Anglican Church, (Diocese of Mbaise) Nguru Nweke, Aboh Mbaise with the theme "The Loudest Hallelujah without the fear of God (Amos  5 : 23- 34).

Speaking to Journalists shortly after the event, the CMD, stated that the event which is a big occasion attracted all Anglican faithfuls both within and outside the State, a time when the Church takes stock, a decision making period where issues concerning the church  are looked into and where previous issues are equally, renewed 

The Chief Medical Director further described the event as very significant in the  lives of the Anglicans, a time to reflect, look into the activities of the church, strengthening of  families,  a time to build, reflect as well as a time to grow the church of God, equally, a big ceremony that is done yearly in different stations expressing, joy that this year's Synod fall in his home church.

Still speaking, the Parishioner asserted, that the 4 day  programme, which started on Thursday and the grand finale on Sunday was a huge success as it attracted all Anglican faithfuls from far and near,  Bishops, dignitaries  both within and outside  the state and all lovers of the gospel.

The CMD further emphasized, that  with what is happening  in the country today,  one wonders  if people are really fearing God adding, that as believers we should have the fear of God in us, mind our ways and  know that there is a God who we are all answerable to at the last day

Commenting on the Synod topic  "Loudest  Hallelujah without the fear of God" the parishioner asserted, that the theme was quite timely, adding, that man needs to fear God both in words and in actions and not by mere saying or paying  lip service but their heart is far away from  God also noted, that as  a christian, no matter how the person shouts hallelujah without the fear of God, the person is just deceiving his/herself  describing it as pure hypocrisy.

The Parishioner who equally described, the Bishop Rt Rev Chamberlain Ogunedo, (Bishop of Mbaise) as a pragmatic, energetic and a hard working  man of God that has got a lot of innovations, as well as great vision in the vineyard of God.
