Gov. Uzodimma Celebrates Fathers, Hails Their Sacrifices and Role in Nation Building

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has extended warm felicitations to fathers in Imo State, across Nigeria, and around the world on the occasion of the 2026 International Father's Day, describing them as indispensable pillars of families and society.


In a goodwill message commemorating the annual celebration, Governor Uzodimma paid glowing tribute to fathers for their unwavering commitment to their responsibilities, noting that their sacrifices, leadership, and guidance continue to shape the future of communities and nations.


The governor observed that fathers have remained symbols of strength, discipline, and stability, providing the moral foundation upon which families thrive and future generations are nurtured.


According to him, the influence of fathers extends beyond their immediate families, as they play critical roles in fostering societal growth, promoting positive values, and inspiring excellence among young people.


"Through their steadfast dedication to their roles and responsibilities as fathers, they have remained pillars of strength, moral guidance, and stability, driving the growth and progress of society while nurturing future generations with values that inspire hope and excellence," the governor stated.


Governor Uzodimma emphasized that Father’s Day presents an opportunity for society to recognize and appreciate the immense contributions of fathers whose efforts often go unnoticed despite the significant impact they make in the lives of their children and communities.


He further called on families to celebrate and honor fathers for their sacrifices, resilience, and commitment to ensuring the wellbeing of their loved ones.


As part of his message, the governor offered prayers for fathers, asking God Almighty to bless them with good health, wisdom, strength, and longevity to continue fulfilling their responsibilities effectively.


"As we honor and celebrate our fathers today, I pray that God Almighty grants them continued strength, wisdom, good health, and the grace to sustain their invaluable contributions to humanity," he added.


The message has resonated with many residents who view Father’s Day as a moment to acknowledge the critical role fathers play in shaping responsible families and building a better society.
