OWERRI, NIGERIA — The fight against cancer in Nigeria received a major boost over the weekend as the First Ladies Against Cancer (FLAC) coalition converged on Imo State, sparking a powerful wave of advocacy, emotional solidarity, and healthcare commitment.

​The high-powered coalition, comprising current and former state first ladies united against the oncology scourge, was hosted at the state capital by Governor Hope Uzodimma. The visit underscored a growing national alliance aimed at improving cancer awareness, funding, and treatment access across the country.

​Reflecting on the significance of hosting the influential group, Governor Uzodimma expressed profound optimism about the impact of their presence on local awareness and patient morale.

​"It was truly heartening to host the First Ladies Against Cancer (FLAC) in Imo State as they shared love, celebrated resilience, and reassured survivors that they are never alone," Governor Uzodimma stated.
