AWKA — Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) attached to the Anambra State Police Command have neutralized a sophisticated syndicate specializing in the production and distribution of lethal, unwholesome alcoholic beverages.

The suspects, identified as Ikechukwu Okeke (42) and Okekechukwu Emeka (38), were caught red-handed at a hidden location in Ilifia Village, Aguluzigbo, following a tip-off from local intelligence sources.


Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that the suspects confessed to running an illegal distillery where premium, high-end spirit brands were systematically cloned using dangerous chemical mixtures. Operatives have sealed the makeshift factory, recovering a massive cache of adulterated liquors, fake branding labels, and bottling equipment, all of which have been secured for forensic laboratory analysis.
