The Parish Priest of Christ The King Catholic (CKC) Parish, Oru Ahiara, in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, Rev. Fr Davidson Osuagwu made this assurance while delivering his Homily during the feast of Corpus Christy, and his send forth for Academic pursuit.

Rev Fr Osuagwu explained that in receiving the Eucharist, Catholic Faithful derive efficacy from the Body and Blood of Christ because according to him, it is the real presence of Jesus Christ.

He went on to say that Jesus Christ did what no Man on earth can ever do, through shedding His blood on the cross, and resurrection, which gave mankind, particularly, believers,  the food of life which is the body and blood, adding that the celebration of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ is known and called Corpus Christy.

The Cleric noted that anyone who wanted to partake in  the Communion must have love, peace, unity and understanding with one another, as he described the Union as the Institution of the Holy Spirit.

He quoted the Books of Corinthians and John, in the Scripture which wrote that every qualified Catholics /Christians should share from the Eucharist, because it is a communion of coming together and the inheritance of Eternal Life.

He cited Adam and Eve who went contrary to the command of God, how they experienced death, pointing out that many in the past, including the Apostles never understood this reception, hence they queried if they were carnivorous animals to eat flesh and drink blood of Jesus Christ.

Fr Osuagwu expressed that except the Faithful received the Body and Blood of Christ in the Holy Communion there will be no life Spiritually.

He went further to narrate that to inherit God's Kingdom, one must be baptized, receive the Holy Communion regular and love one another, stressed that the Holy Eucharist is a Union and sacrifice, which reactivated Calvary at every Masses.

The Catholic Cleric also emphasized that Jesus Christ is the sacrifice and the sacrificer, therefore enjoined the Christian Community to stay devoid of rancour, envy, disunity and the like, called on all Christians to come together, share with one another as worshippers.

He further said that in the past people received healing by washing at the river, but that the Blood of Jesus Christ brought healing to all diseases, advised Catholic Faithful to obey the Blessed Sacrament and reverence God by kneeling, to acknowledge respect, saying that refusal to reverence God is sacrilege.

He stated that the receiving of the Holy Communion is to profess Love and Trust God, adding that to receive Communion with respect, marked the highest form of worship, advised Catholics to cherish and value the dignity of what they have.

Fr Osuagwu cautioned couples who have not taken the vow of the Holy matrimony to ensure they get wedded, to stop unnecessary argument in embracing the things of God.

He called on Catholic Faithful to always be in the state of Grace through confessions, before receiving the Holy Communion.

The Cleric implored Christians to understand the love of God to mankind and proof, to show dedication through practice and action, prayed that we inherit the Kingdom after our sojourn on earth.

Fr Osuagwu later appreciated the Parishioners for the show of love, cooperation and care he received at the parish during his short stay, to remember them always in his prayers.

In their remarks, the traditional Ruler of Oru Ahiara Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Emmanuel Ngozichukwu Erege, a Community Leader, Prince John Oleka, the former Chairman, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, Imo State Council, and  CWO Executive member, Eziada Mrs Florence Nkechi Onwumere, appreciated the Parish Priest for his services, revival mission, evangelism, preaching and teaching the words of God which has really touched souls and brought succor to the Parishioners, and wished him success in all his academic pursuit in the diaspora.
