The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma has described the collation and declaration of the presidential primary election results of the All Progressives Congress as more than a political exercise, insisting that the outcome represents a nationwide endorsement of President Bola Tinubu and his leadership.


Speaking after the presidential primary collation held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre (BATICC), Uzodimma said the process was not merely a ritual of presenting figures but a “profound affirmation” of Tinubu’s handling of national affairs.


According to the governor, the results presented from different states reflected what he described as the growing confidence of Nigerians in the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda.


“It was not merely a ritual of result presentation; it was a profound affirmation of the effective leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in steering the affairs of our nation and driving it steadily forward,” he stated.


Uzodimma argued that the overwhelming support recorded during the exercise underscored the far-reaching impact of Tinubu’s policies across sectors, adding that the ruling party’s decision to reaffirm the president’s candidacy signals continuity, consolidation and sustained national development.


He maintained that the APC remains united behind Tinubu, describing the president’s re-emergence as a vote of confidence in governance continuity and economic transformation.


“In recognition of these achievements and the growing trust of Nigerians in his leadership, our party has once again affirmed his candidature for continuity, consolidation and the sustained advancement of our dear nation,” the governor added.


Yet, beyond party celebrations, the remarks may spark a broader national conversation.


For supporters of the administration, the presidential primary outcome reflects confidence in reforms they believe are laying the foundation for long-term economic recovery and stability.


For critics, however, political endorsements within party structures do not always translate to public approval, especially at a time when many citizens continue to grapple with inflation, high food prices, unemployment and rising living costs.


Some argue that party delegates and loyalists may applaud policy direction, while ordinary Nigerians judge leadership more by market prices, jobs, electricity, transport costs and daily survival.
