EFCC Asset Seizure Drama: Court Says “Not So Fast!”

***

A Federal High Court has granted an interim order allowing suspected assets linked to an investigation to remain temporarily under watch, but there is a twist — the court says the properties are not yet permanently forfeited to the Federal Government. Interested persons now have 14 days to explain why the assets should not be seized permanently, while the EFCC has been ordered to publish the notice in two national newspapers.

Big question: Should suspected wealth be seized first or should owners be heard before public embarrassment? 🤔
