Catholic Cleric describes followership as a gift from God.

The Second Catholic Cleric describes followership as a gift from God. Priest of Christ The King Catholic Parish, Oru Ahiara in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, Rev Fr Valentine Ogu, made this remark during his homily on Pentecost Sunday.

Fr Ogu enjoined Christians to destroy every circles of misfortune, to pray hard and make dedication to the things of God, major priority.

He stated that 50 days after resurrection, marked end of the Easter Season, pointing out that, ''without the Pentecost, there can never be the Church'', hence according to the Scriptures in the Book of John, Disciples were fully made Apostles and ,that following the death of Christ, they all were in fear, until the descent of the Holy Spirit upon them, which came with a loud wind, and they were empowered.

The Catholic Cleric noted that their reception of the Holy Spirit gave them courage without fear of the Jews, boldly preached the gospel message.

Fr Ogu went further to say that fear is an enemy of Man, adding that when the Holy Spirit fell onthe Apostles, they were able to hear and understand people speaking in diverse tongues.

He added that our Lord Jesus Christ commanded ''the peace be with you'' to the Disciples, which is professed to all Mankind to preach the Good News.

The Priest called on Christians to apply gifts they received, at various spheres, such as, trade, businesses, Career and Vocations as well as make honesty and sincerity watchwords in all endeavors of life.

He also prayed God to change the lives of the Faithful positively.

The Pentecost week earlier took off with nine days power packed Novena, organized by the Parish Priest, Rev Fr Davidson Osuagwu.

The climax of the Holy week featured love feast and Thanksgiving by the Parishioners.
